It is currently cheaper to heat with electricity compared to LP or fuel oil.  If your power company offers dual fuel rates the savings can pay for the electric equipment the first year.  Plenum heaters are an easy addition for forced air systems.  Electric boilers are a bit more work, but still relatively simple.
